حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سِيرِينَ قَالَ نُبِّئْتُ أَنَّ أُمَّ عَطِيَّةَ قَالَتْ

تُوُفِّيَ إِحْدَى بَنَاتِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ، فَأَمَرَنَا أَنْ نُغَسِّلَهَا ثَلَاثًا، أَوْ خَمْسًا، أَوْ أَكْثَرَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ إِنْ رَأَيْتُنَّ، وَأَنْ نَجْعَلَ فِي الْغَسْلَةِ الْآخِرَةِ شَيْئًا مِنْ سِدْرٍ وَكَافُورٍ

Translation

Chain of narrators
  1. ʿAffān
  2. Yazīd b. Ibrāhīm
  3. Muḥammad b. Sīrīn
  4. Nubbiʾt
  5. Um ʿAṭiyyah

✧ One of the daughters of the Prophet ﷺ died. He commanded us to wash her three times, or five times, or more than that if we saw fit, and to put in the last washing some lotus leaves and camphor.
