✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ came to us while we were washing his daughter (peace be upon her) and said: Wash her three times, or five times, or more than that if you see fit, with water and lote-tree leaves, and in the last washing add camphor, or some camphor. When you finish, inform me. She said: When we finished, we informed him, and he threw his waist-wrapper to us and said: Wrap her in it. He said: Hafsa said: He said: Wash her an odd number of times—three, five, or seven. He said: Umm Atiyya said: We combed her hair into three braids.
