✧ I was walking with the Messenger of God ﷺ, holding his hand. He said to me: O son of al-Khasaṣiyya, what have you come to resent against God [Blessed and Exalted]? You have come to walk with His Messenger. He said: I think he said: holding his hand. He said: I said: I have not come to resent anything against God; God [Blessed and Exalted] has given me every good. He said: Then we came upon the graves of the polytheists, and he said: These have gone ahead with much good—three times. Then we came upon the graves of the Muslims, and he said: These have attained much good—three times, saying it. He said: Then he caught sight of a man walking among the graves in his sandals and said: Woe to you, O wearer of the two sandals, take off your sandals—twice or thrice. The man looked, and when he saw the Messenger of God ﷺ, he took off his sandals.
