✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out at night and passed by me. He called me to him, so I went out. Then he passed by Abu Bakr and called him, so he went out to him. Then he passed by 'Umar and called him, so he went out to him. He went on until he entered a garden belonging to one of the Ansar. He said to the owner of the garden: 'Feed us some unripe dates.' He brought a date cluster and placed it down. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ and his companions ate. Then he called for cold water and drank. He said: 'You will certainly be questioned about this on the Day of Resurrection.' He said: 'Umar took the cluster and struck the ground with it until the unripe dates scattered in front of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Then he said: 'O Messenger of Allah, will we really be questioned about this on the Day of Resurrection?' He said: 'Yes, except for three things: a rag with which a man covers his private parts, a morsel with which he satisfies his hunger, or a hole in which he takes shelter from heat and cold.'
