✧ Salmān, Ṣuhayb, and Bilāl were sitting among some people when Abū Sufyān b. Ḥarb passed by them. They said: “The swords of God [Blessed and Exalted] have not yet taken their due from the neck of the enemy of God.” Abū Bakr said: “Do you say this to the elder of Quraysh and its chief?!” He said: The Prophet ﷺ was informed of that, and he said: “O Abū Bakr, perhaps you angered them? If you angered them, you have angered your Lord [Blessed and Exalted].” So he returned to them and said: “O our brothers, perhaps you are angry?” They said: “No, O Abū Bakr, may God forgive you.”
