✧ I was in a gathering in Madinah in which Umar b. al-Khattab was present, and Umar said to a man among his companions: How did you hear the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say it? He said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: Islam began as a jadhaʿ (a young animal), then a thaniyy (one with two teeth), then a rabaʿi (one with four teeth), then a sadis (one with six teeth), then a bazil (one with full teeth). Umar then said: After full growth there is only decline.
