✧ One day the Messenger of God ﷺ described the description of the Dajjāl and the description of his parents. He said: The parents of the Dajjāl will remain for thirty years without having a child, then a son will be born to them, one-eyed, circumcised, the least beneficial of things and the most harmful of them. His eyes sleep but his heart does not sleep. Then he mentioned him, except that he said: Then this one was born to us, one-eyed, circumcised, the least beneficial of things and the most harmful of them.

machine translationIn its chain is ʿAlī b. Zayd b. Judʿān, who is weak (ḍaʿīf) according to scholars other than al-Tirmidhī.

    in مسند أحمد, p. 20787
  • Abū Bakr Aḥmad b. al-Ḥusayn al-Bayhaqī

machine translationʿAlī b. Zayd b. Judʿān was alone in narrating it, and he is not strong (qawī).

    in مسند أحمد, p. 20787
  • Ibn Ḥajar al-ʿAsqalānī

machine translationWhat weakens the hadith is that Abū Bakrah only accepted Islam when he came down from al-Ṭāʾif when it was besieged in the year 8 AH. And in the hadith of Ibn ʿUmar, which is in the two Ṣaḥīḥs, when the Prophet ﷺ headed to the palm grove in which Ibn Ṣayyād was, Ibn Ṣayyād at that time was like one who had reached puberty. So how could Abū Bakrah have been present at the time of his birth in Medina, when he only settled in Medina two years before the death of the Prophet ﷺ?

    in مسند أحمد, p. 20787
