✧ The parents of the Dajjāl remain thirty years without a child being born to them. Then a boy is born to them who is the most harmful thing and the least beneficial. His eyes sleep but his heart does not sleep. Then the Messenger of God ﷺ described his father, saying, “His father is a tall man, flabby-fleshed, as if his nose were a beak, and his mother is a woman with wide hips and long breasts.” Abū Bakrah said: We heard of a newborn born among the Jews in Madinah, so I and al-Zubayr b. al-ʿAwwām went until we entered upon his parents, and there was the description of the Messenger of God ﷺ in them. We said, “Do you have a child?” They said, “We remained thirty years without a child being born to us, then a boy was born to us who is one-eyed, the most harmful thing and the least beneficial; his eyes sleep but his heart does not sleep.” We left them and found the boy lying wrapped in a velvet cloth in the sun, making a murmuring sound. He said: I uncovered his head, and he said, “What did you two say?” We said, “Did you hear?” He said, “Yes, my eyes sleep but my heart does not sleep.”

machine translationʿAlī b. Zayd b. Judʿān was alone in narrating it, and he is not strong (qawī).
in مسند أحمد, p. 20769 - Ibn Ḥajar al-ʿAsqalānī
machine translationWhat weakens the hadith is that Abū Bakrah only accepted Islam when he came down from al-Ṭāʾif when it was besieged in the year 8 AH. And in the hadith of Ibn ʿUmar, which is in the two Ṣaḥīḥs, when the Prophet ﷺ headed to the palm grove in which Ibn Ṣayyād was, Ibn Ṣayyād at that time was like one who had reached puberty. So how could Abū Bakrah have been present at the time of his birth in Medina, when he only settled in Medina two years before the death of the Prophet ﷺ?
