✧ Abu Bakrah Nufay' b. al-Harith b. Kaladah

حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ أَخْبَرَنَا ثَابِتٌ أَنَّ أَبَا بَكْرَةَ قَالَ

نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنِ الْخَذْفِ، فَأَخَذَ ابْنُ عَمٍّ لَهُ فَقَالَ عَنْ هَذَا ؟ وَخَذَفَ، فَقَالَ: أَلَا أُرَانِي أُخْبِرُكَ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنْهُ وَأَنْتَ تَخْذِفُ ؟ ! وَاللهِ لَا أُكَلِّمُكَ عَرَبِيَّةً مَا عِشْتُ أَوْ مَا بَقِيتُ أَوْ نَحْوَ هَذَا

Translation

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ forbade pelting with pebbles. A cousin of his took up [a pebble] and said: 'About this?' and pelted. He said: 'Do I not see myself telling you that the Messenger of God ﷺ forbade it, and you are pelting?! By God, I will not speak to you in Arabic as long as I live'—or 'as long as I remain'—or something like this.
