حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكَرَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ
أَرَأَيْتُمْ إِنْ كَانَتْ جُهَيْنَةُ وَأَسْلَمُ وَغِفَارُ خَيْرًا مِنْ بَنِي تَمِيمٍ وَبَنِي عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ غَطَفَانَ وَبَنِي عَامِرِ بْنِ صَعْصَعَةَ وَمَدَّ بِهَا صَوْتَهُ. قَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، قَدْ خَابُوا وَخَسِرُوا. قَالَ: فَوَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ، لَهُمْ خَيْرٌ

✧ Do you see that if Juhaynah, Aslam, and Ghifār were better than Banū Tamīm, Banū ʿAbd Allāh b. Ghaṭafān, and Banū ʿĀmir b. Ṣaʿṣaʿah—and he raised his voice—they said: O Messenger of Allah, they have failed and lost. He said: By the One in whose hand is my soul, they are better.
