حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنْ عُيَيْنَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي قَالَ

ذَكَرْتُ لَيْلَةَ الْقَدْرِ عِنْدَ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ فَقَالَ: مَا أَنَا بِطَالِبِهَا إِلَّا فِي الْعَشْرِ الْأَوَاخِرِ بَعْدَ شَيْءٍ سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ، سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ: الْتَمِسُوهَا فِي الْعَشْرِ الْأَوَاخِرِ مِنْ تِسْعٍ يَبْقَيْنَ، أَوْ سَبْعٍ يَبْقَيْنَ، أَوْ خَمْسٍ يَبْقَيْنَ، أَوْ ثَلَاثٍ يَبْقَيْنَ، أَوْ آخِرِ لَيْلَةٍ

Translation

✧ I mentioned the Night of Decree (Laylat al-Qadr) in the presence of Abu Bakrah, and he said: I will not seek it except in the last ten nights, after something I heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. I heard him say: Seek it in the last ten nights: in the ninth, seventh, fifth, or third that remain, or the last night.
