حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ وَبَهْزٌ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُقَالَ بَهْزٌ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ زُرَارَةَ بْنِ أَوْفَى عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ

خَيْرُ أُمَّتِي الْقَرْنُ الَّذِي بُعِثْتُ فِيهِمْ، ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ، ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ قَالَ: وَاللهُ أَعْلَمُ أَذَكَرَ الثَّالِثَ أَمْ لَا، ثُمَّ يَنْشَأُ قَوْمٌ يَشْهَدُونَ وَلَا يُسْتَشْهَدُونَ، وَيَنْذِرُونَ وَلَا يُوفُونَ، وَيَخُونُونَ وَلَا يُؤْتَمَنُونَ، وَيَفْشُو فِيهِمُ السِّمَنُ

✧ The best of my community is the generation in which I was sent, then those who follow them, then those who follow them. He said: And Allah knows best whether he mentioned the third or not. Then a people will arise who testify but are not asked to testify, who make vows but do not fulfill them, who betray and are not trusted, and fatness spreads among them.
