Translation

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent me to Yemen, and I said: "O Messenger of Allah, there are drinks there. What should I drink and what should I leave?" He said: "What are they?" I said: "Al-bit' and al-mizr." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not know what they were, so he said: "What is al-bit' and what is al-mizr?" He said: "As for al-bit', it is a nabidh of corn cooked until it becomes bit'. As for al-mizr, it is a nabidh of honey." He said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Do not drink any intoxicant."
