حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَجِيدِ الثَّقَفِيُّ أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ الْحَذَّاءُ عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ النَّهْدِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى الْأَشْعَرِيِّ قَالَ
كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي غَزَاةٍ، فَجَعَلْنَا لَا نَصْعَدُ شَرَفًا، وَلَا نَعْلُو شَرَفًا، وَلَا نَهْبِطُ فِي وَادٍ إِلَّا رَفَعْنَا أَصْوَاتَنَا بِالتَّكْبِيرِ قَالَ: فَدَنَا مِنَّا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ: [يَا] أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ ارْبَعُوا عَلَى أَنْفُسِكُمْ، فَإِنَّكُمْ مَا تَدْعُونَ أَصَمَّ وَلَا غَائِبًا، إِنَّمَا تَدْعُونَ سَمِيعًا بَصِيرًا، إِنَّ الَّذِي تَدْعُونَ أَقْرَبُ إِلَى أَحَدِكُمْ مِنْ عُنُقِ رَاحِلَتِهِ، يَا عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ قَيْسٍ أَلَا أُعَلِّمُكَ كَلِمَةً مِنْ كُنُوزِ الْجَنَّةِ: لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللهِ

✧ We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on a military expedition. Whenever we climbed a hill, ascended a height, or descended into a valley, we raised our voices with the takbir. He said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came close to us and said: "O people, be gentle with yourselves, for you are not calling upon one who is deaf or absent. You are only calling upon One who is All-Hearing, All-Seeing. Indeed, the One you call upon is closer to one of you than the neck of his riding camel. O 'Abd Allah b. Qays, shall I not teach you a word from the treasures of Paradise: 'There is no might and no power except with Allah.'"
