machine translationḤajjāj b. Arṭāh narrates it, and there is disagreement about him. Ḥammād b. Salamah narrated it from Ḥajjāj b. Arṭāh, from ʿAmr b. Murrah, from Zādhān, from Jarīr. Yaḥyā b. Saʿīd al-Umawī and Abū Kudaynah al-Bajalī, Yaḥyā b. al-Muhallab, differed from him; they narrated it from Ḥajjāj, from Abū al-Yaqẓān, from Zādhān, from Jarīr, and Abū al-Yaqẓān is ʿUthmān b. ʿUmayr. Likewise al-Jarrāḥ b. al-Ḍaḥḥāk al-Kindī and Muḥammad b. ʿUbaydillāh al-ʿArzamī narrated it from Abū al-Yaqẓān, who is ʿUthmān b. ʿUmayr, from Zādhān, from Jarīr. Al-Thawrī also narrated it, and there is disagreement about him. Wakīʿ, Abū Usāmah, Ibn Numayr and Zāʾidah narrated it from al-Thawrī, from ʿUthmān b. ʿUmayr, from Zādhān, from Jarīr. It was also said, from Abū Ḥudhayfah, from al-Thawrī, from ʿUthmān b. al-Mughīrah, from Zādhān, and that is an error; it is only ʿUthmān b. ʿUmayr Abū al-Yaqẓān. ʿAbd al-Razzāq narrated it from al-Thawrī. Ḥafṣ b. ʿImrān narrated it from Muslim b. ʿAbd al-Raḥmān, from a man, and he is ʿUthmān b. ʿUmayr. Abū Ḥamzah al-Thumālī narrated it, and there is disagreement about him: Ibn Numayr narrated it from Abū Ḥamzah al-Thumālī, from Abū al-Yaqẓān, who is ʿUthmān b. ʿUmayr. So the hadith returns to him. Abū Muḥammad b. Ṣāʿid narrated to us, he said: Salamah b. Shabīb narrated to us, he said: ʿAbd al-Razzāq narrated to us, he said: al-Thawrī informed us, from Sālim b. ʿAbd al-Raḥmān, from ʿUthmān, from Zādhān, from Jarīr b. ʿAbdillāh, who said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "The lahd (niche grave) is for us, and the shaqq (trench grave) is for others."
