✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ went out at the time of al-Ḥudaybiyah with some ten and several hundred. Then he mentioned the hadith. From here it is appended to the hadith of al-Zuhrī, from al-Qāsim b. Muḥammad: He said: "And Abū Baṣīr said to the ʿĀmirī, while he had his sword: 'I see this sword of yours, O brother of the Banū ʿĀmir, is good.' He said: 'Yes, indeed.' He said: 'Show it to me so I may look at it.' He said: 'So he gave it to him, and Abū Baṣīr drew it, then struck the ʿĀmirī until he killed him. The freedman fled, sprinting toward the Messenger of God ﷺ, and entered upon the Messenger of God ﷺ while he was in the mosque, the pebbles rattling from the intensity of his running. When the Messenger of God ﷺ saw him, he said: 'This one has seen something terrifying.'" Then he mentioned something like the hadith of ʿAbd al-Razzāq. He said: "When the disbelievers of Quraysh saw that, a group of them rode to the Messenger of God ﷺ and said: 'Your treaty period is of no avail; we are being killed and our property plundered. We ask you to include those of us who have embraced Islam in your treaty, protect them, and restrain their fighting against us.' So the Messenger of God ﷺ did that, and God, Mighty and Majestic, revealed: 'And it is He who restrained their hands from you and your hands from them.' He recited until he reached 'the pride of the Age of Ignorance.'"
