✧ The Banū Hishām b. al-Mughīrah asked my permission to marry their daughter to ʿAlī b. Abī Ṭālib, and I will not permit them. Then he said: "I will not permit." Then he said: "I will not permit. My daughter is a part of me; what disturbs her disturbs me, and what harms her harms me."

machine translationʿAmr b. Dīnār narrates it, and there is disagreement about him. Ibn ʿUyaynah narrated it from ʿAmr b. Dīnār, from Ibn Abī Mulaykah, from al-Miswar. Dāwūd al-ʿAṭṭār narrated it from ʿAmr as a mursal report. Al-Layth and Ibn Lahīʿah narrated it from Ibn Abī Mulaykah, who is ʿAbdullāh b. ʿUbaydillāh b. ʿAbdillāh b. Abī Mulaykah al-Qurashī al-Taymī, from al-Miswar b. Makhramah. Ayyūb al-Sakhtiyānī differed from them and narrated it from Ibn Abī Mulaykah, from ʿAbdullāh b. al-Zubayr. The hadith of al-Miswar b. Makhramah is closer to being correct.
