machine translationManṣūr b. al-Muʿtamir narrated it, and there is disagreement about what was reported from him. Dāwūd b. ʿĪsā al-Nakhaʿī, Mufaḍḍal b. Muhalhil, Ibrāhīm b. Ṭahmān and Shaybān narrated it from Manṣūr, from Sālim b. Abī al-Jaʿd, from Murrah b. Kaʿb or Kaʿb b. Murrah. Al-Thawrī, Abū ʿAwānah and Zāʾidah narrated it from Manṣūr, from Sālim b. Abī al-Jaʿd, from a man, from Kaʿb b. Murrah. The statement of al-Thawrī and those who followed him is more sound (aṣaḥḥ), because Sālim did not hear from Kaʿb b. Murrah.
