حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ مَعْبَدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ حَارِثَةَ بْنَ وَهْبٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ

تَصَدَّقُوا، فَيُوشِكُ الرَّجُلُ يَمْشِي بِصَدَقَتِهِ، فَيَقُولُ الَّذِي أُعْطِيَهَا: لَوْ جِئْتَ بِهَا بِالْأَمْسِ قَبِلْتُهَا، وَأَمَّا الْآنَ فَلَا حَاجَةَ لِي فِيهَا، فَلَا يَجِدُ مَنْ يَقْبَلُهَا

Translation

✧ Give charity, for soon a man will walk about with his charity and the one to whom he offers it will say: 'Had you brought it yesterday I would have accepted it, but now I have no need of it,' and he will find no one to accept it.
