✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed facing Jerusalem for sixteen or seventeen months, then he was directed to face the Ka'bah, and he loved that. Then Allah, Mighty and Exalted, revealed: 'We have certainly seen the turning of your face toward the heaven, so We will surely turn you to a qiblah with which you will be pleased. So turn your face toward the Sacred Mosque' [Quran 2:144]. He said: A man who had prayed 'Asr with the Prophet ﷺ passed by some Ansar while they were bowing in the 'Asr prayer facing Jerusalem. He said: 'He bears witness that he has prayed with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and that he has been directed to face the Ka'bah.' So they turned while still bowing in the 'Asr prayer.
