Translation

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ gave a sermon on the day of sacrifice and said: The first of your rites this day is this prayer. Abu Burda b. Niyar, my maternal uncle, stood up to him – Sufyan said: He was a veteran of Badr – and said: O Messenger of God, it was a day on which meat is desired, and we hurried and slaughtered. The Messenger of God ﷺ said: Then replace it. He said: O Messenger of God, we have a jadha' goat. He said: It is for you, and not for anyone after you.
