حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ حَدَّثَنَا الْعَلَاءُ بْنُ زِيَادٍ الْعَدَوِيُّ قَالَ وَحَدَّثَنِي يَزِيدُ أَخُو مُطَرِّفٍ قَالَ وَحَدَّثَنِي عُقْبَةُ كُلُّ هَؤُلَاءِ يَقُولُ حَدَّثَنِي مُطَرِّفٌ أَنَّ عِيَاضَ بْنَ حِمَارٍ حَدَّثَهُ
أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ فِي خُطْبَتِهِ: إِنَّ اللهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ أَمَرَنِي أَنْ أُعَلِّمَكُمْ مَا جَهِلْتُمْ فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ وَقَالَ: الضَّعِيفُ الَّذِي لَا زَبْرَ لَهُ، الَّذِينَ هُمْ فِيكُمْ تَبَعٌ لَا يَبْتَغُونَ أَهْلًا وَلَا مَالًا قَالَ: قَالَ رَجُلٌ لِمُطَرِّفٍ: يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ اللهِ، أَمِنَ الْمَوَالِي هُوَ أَوْ مِنَ الْعَرَبِ ؟ قَالَ: هُوَ التَّابِعَةُ، يَكُونُ لِلرَّجُلِ يُصِيبُ مِنْ خَدَمِهِ سِفَاحًا غَيْرَ نِكَاحٍ، وَقَالَ: أَهْلُ الْجَنَّةِ ثَلَاثَةٌ: ذُو سُلْطَانٍ مُقْسِطٌ مُصَدِّقٌ مُوقِنٌ، وَرَجُلٌ رَحِيمٌ رَقِيقُ الْقَلْبِ بِكُلِّ ذِي قُرْبَى وَمُسْلِمٍ، وَرَجُلٌ عَفِيفٌ فَقِيرٌ مُتَصَدِّقٌ.

✧ He heard the Prophet ﷺ say in his sermon: Allah, Mighty and Majestic, commanded me to teach you what you were ignorant of. Then he mentioned the hadith and said: The weak one is he who has no restraint—those among you who are followers, not seeking family or wealth. He said: A man said to Mutarrif, "O Abu 'Abdillah, is he from the clients or from the Arabs?" He replied, "He is the follower, who belongs to a man and gets some of his servants illicitly, without marriage." And he said: The people of Paradise are three: a just, truthful, and certain ruler; a merciful man, tender-hearted toward every relative and Muslim; and a chaste, poor man who gives charity.
