✧ I spent one night with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He ordered a side of meat, and it was roasted. Then he took a knife and began cutting pieces for me with it. Bilal came to call him to prayer, so he threw down the knife and said: 'What is wrong with him? May his hands be rubbed in dust!' He said: 'My mustache had grown long, so he trimmed it for me over a siwak,' or he said: 'I will trim it for you over a siwak.'

machine translationMisʿar narrates it from Abū Ṣakhrah Jāmiʿ b. Shaddād, from al-Mughīrah b. ʿAbdullāh, from al-Mughīrah b. Shuʿbah. A shaykh of the people of Khurāsān narrated it from al-Ḥasan b. Qutaybah, who is weak (ḍaʿīf), from Misʿar, from Abū Isḥāq, from al-Mughīrah b. ʿAbdullāh. He erred in his saying "from Abū Isḥāq"; the correct is "from Abū Ṣakhrah".
