✧ A man from the Jews said to another: “Let us go to this Prophet.” He said: “Do not say this, for if he heard it, he would have four eyes [i.e., he would be very pleased].” He said: So they went to him and asked him about this verse: “And We gave Moses nine clear signs” [17:101]. He said: “Do not associate anything with God; do not kill the soul which God has forbidden except by right; do not steal; do not commit adultery; do not flee from battle; do not practice sorcery; do not consume usury; do not hand over an innocent person to a ruler so that he may kill him; and upon you specifically, O Jews, is not to transgress in the Sabbath.” They said: “We bear witness that you are the Messenger of God.”
