✧ That Ya'la used to say to Umar b. al-Khattab: I wish I could see the Prophet ﷺ when revelation descends upon him. He said: So when he was at al-Ji'ranah, and the Messenger of God ﷺ had a garment shading him, with him were some of his companions, among them Umar, when a man came to him wearing a jubbah, perfumed with fragrance. He said: O Messenger of God, what do you think about a man who entered ihram for umrah in a jubbah after perfuming himself with fragrance? The Prophet ﷺ looked for a while, then fell silent, and revelation came to him. Umar signaled to Ya'la: Come here. So Ya'la came and put his head in, and there was the Prophet ﷺ with a reddened face, breathing heavily like that for a while, then it was lifted from him. He said: "Where is the one who asked me about the umrah just now?" The man was sought and brought. The Prophet ﷺ said: "As for the perfume that is on you, wash it off three times. As for the jubbah, take it off. Then do in your umrah as you do in your hajj."
