✧ ʿUqbah b. ʿĀmir accompanied us on a journey and would not lead us in prayer. We said to him: "May Allah have mercy on you, will you not lead us in prayer when you are one of the Companions of Muhammad ﷺ?" He said: "No. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'Whoever leads the people in prayer and hits the right time and completes the prayer, it is for him and for them. Whoever falls short of that, it is against him and not against them.'"
