حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا دَاوُدُ عَنْ مَكْحُولٍ عَنْ أَبِي ثَعْلَبَةَ الْخُشَنِيِّ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ
إِنَّ أَحَبَّكُمْ إِلَيَّ وَأَقْرَبَكُمْ مِنِّي، مَحَاسِنُكُمْ أَخْلَاقًا، وَإِنَّ أَبْغَضَكُمْ إِلَيَّ وَأَبْعَدَكُمْ مِنِّي، مَسَاوِيكُمْ أَخْلَاقًا، الثَّرْثَارُونَ، الْمُتَشَدِّقُونَ، الْمُتَفَيْهِقُونَ
Translation

from the Prophet ﷺ [who] said, "Verily, the most beloved of you and closest to me in the Hereafter are those with the best character. The most hateful of you to me and furthest from me in the Hereafter are those with the worst character: the braggarts, the verbose, the loquacious." (Using translation from Ibn Ḥibbān 5557)
