Translation

✧ “Hand it to me.” She lifted it up to him, and he placed it between himself and the middle of the saddle. Then he opened his mouth and blew into it three times, and said: “In the name of God. I am the servant of God. Be gone, enemy of God!” Then he handed it back to her and said: “Meet us on the return at this place, and tell us what happened.” He said: We went and came back, and found her at that place with three sheep. He said: “What did your child do?” She said: By the One who sent you with the truth, we have not felt anything from him until this hour. So drag these sheep away. He said: “Get down and take one of them, and return the rest.” He said: One day we went out to the cemetery, and when we came out into the open he said: “Look, woe to you, do you see anything that could conceal me?” I said: I do not see anything that could conceal you except a tree that I do not think could conceal you. He said: “How close is it?” I said: A tree like it, or close to it. He said: “Go to both of them and say: The Messenger of God ﷺ commands you both to come together by God’s permission.” He said: They came together, and he went out for his need, then returned. He said: “Go to them and say to them: The Messenger of God commands each of you to return to its place, [so it returned].” He said: I was sitting with him one day when a camel came trotting until it struck its chest to the ground before him, then its eyes overflowed with tears. He said: “Woe to you, look to whom this camel belongs; it surely has some matter.” He said: I went out looking for its owner, and found that it belonged to a man of the Ansar. I called him to him, and he said: “What is the matter with this camel of yours?” He said: And what is its matter? He said: By God, I do not know what its matter is. We worked it and drew water with it until it became unable to water. Last night we resolved to slaughter it and divide its meat. He said: “Do not do that. Give it to me, or sell it to me.” He said: Rather it is yours, O Messenger of God. He said: He branded it with the charity brand, then sent it off.
