✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed over the slain of Uhud eight years later, as one bidding farewell to the living and the dead. Then he ascended the pulpit and said: "I am your forerunner, and I am a witness over you. Your appointed meeting is the cistern, and indeed I am looking at it now. I do not fear that you will associate partners with Allah—or he said: disbelieve—but rather that you will compete with one another for this world."
