حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ حَدَّثَنَا قَبَاثُ بْنُ رَزِينٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ رَبَاحٍ عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ الْجُهَنِيِّ قَالَ
خَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَنَحْنُ نَتَدَارَسُ الْقُرْآنَ قَالَ: تَعَلَّمُوا الْقُرْآنَ وَاقْتَنُوهُ. قَالَ قَبَاثٌ: وَلَا أَعْلَمُهُ إِلَّا قَالَ: وَتَغَنَّوْا بِهِ فَإِنَّهُ أَشَدُّ تَفَلُّتًا مِنَ الْمَخَاضِ فِي عُقُلِهَا

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out to us while we were studying the Qur'an. He said: "Learn the Qur'an and acquire it." Qabath said: "And I do not think he said anything except: 'And chant it melodiously, for it is more prone to slip away than a pregnant camel from its hobbles.'"
