حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ يَعْنِي ابْنَ صَالِحٍ عَنْ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ عَنْ الْقَاسِمِ مَوْلَى مُعَاوِيَةَ عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ قَالَ
كُنْتُ أَقُودُ بِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ رَاحِلَتَهُ فِي السَّفَرِ فَقَالَ: يَا عُقْبَةُ، أَلَا أُعَلِّمُكَ خَيْرَ سُورَتَيْنِ قُرِئَتَا ؟ قُلْتُ: بَلَى. قَالَ: قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ الْفَلَقِ وَ قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ النَّاسِ فَلَمَّا نَزَلَ صَلَّى بِهِمَا صَلَاةَ الْغَدَاةِ، قَالَ: كَيْفَ تَرَى يَا عُقْبَةُ ؟

✧ I was leading the Messenger of Allah ﷺ's riding camel on a journey, and he said: "O 'Uqbah, shall I not teach you the best two surahs that are recited?" I said: "Yes." He said: "Say: 'I seek refuge with the Lord of the daybreak' and say: 'I seek refuge with the Lord of mankind.'" When he dismounted, he prayed the dawn prayer with them and said: "How do you see it, O 'Uqbah?"
