✧ We set out on a journey, and with us was ʿUqbah b. ʿĀmir. We said to him: 'You, may Allah have mercy on you, are one of the companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, so lead us in prayer.' He said: 'No, for I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: Whoever leads the people in prayer and gets the timing right and completes the prayer, it is for him and for them; and whoever falls short in any of that, it is against him and not against them.'
