✧ His mother said to him, 'Will you not go and ask the Messenger of God ﷺ as the people ask him?' So I went to ask him and found him standing, delivering a sermon, saying: 'Whoever seeks chastity, God makes him chaste; whoever seeks self-sufficiency, God makes him self-sufficient; and whoever begs from people while having the equivalent of five ounces has begged importunately.' I said to myself: He has a she-camel that is better than five ounces, and his slave has another she-camel that is better than five ounces. So I returned and did not ask him.
