✧ I heard Kurayb b. Abraha while he was sitting with 'Abd al-Malik at Dayr al-Murran, and they mentioned arrogance. Kurayb said: I heard Abu Rayhana say: I heard the Messenger of God ﷺ say: No particle of arrogance will enter Paradise. He said: A man said, 'O Messenger of God, I like to adorn myself with the strap of my whip and the lace of my sandal?' The Prophet ﷺ said: That is not arrogance. God, Mighty and Majestic, is beautiful and loves beauty. Arrogance is only when someone treats the truth as foolish and belittles people with his eyes.
