حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ خَالِدٍ عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ عَنْ أَبِي الْأَشْعَثِعَنْ شَدَّادِ بْنِ أَوْسٍ قَالَ

ثِنْتَانِ حَفِظْتُهُمَا مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ: إِنَّ اللهَ كَتَبَ الْإِحْسَانَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ، فَإِذَا قَتَلْتُمْ فَأَحْسِنُوا الْقِتْلَةَ، وَإِذَا ذَبَحْتُمْ فَأَحْسِنُوا الذَّبِيحَةَ، وَلْيُحِدَّ أَحَدُكُمْ شَفْرَتَهُ، وَلْيُرِحْ ذَبِيحَتَهُ

✧ Two things I memorized from the Messenger of God ﷺ, that he said: “God has prescribed excellence in everything, so when you kill, kill well, and when you slaughter, slaughter well, and let one of you sharpen his blade and give rest to his animal.”
