✧ I turned away from the deities of my people in the pre-Islamic era (jahiliyya)...' And he mentioned the hadith. He said: 'So I asked about him, and I found him hiding because of his affair. I approached him gently until I entered upon him. I greeted him and said to him: What are you? He said: A prophet. I said: And what is a prophet? He said: A messenger of Allah. I said: And who sent you? He said: Allah, Mighty and Majestic. I said: With what did He send you? He said: With [the command] that kinship ties be maintained, blood be spared, roads be made safe, idols be broken, and Allah alone be worshipped with nothing associated with Him. I said: Excellent is what He sent you with! I bear witness that I have believed in you and affirmed you. Should I stay with you, or what do you think? He said: You see how people dislike what I have brought. So stay with your family, and when you hear that I have come out openly, then come to me.'
