✧ The Commander of the Believers wrote to me when Syria had settled down: with wheat and honey—and Affan hesitated once, saying: when Syria had settled such and such—and he ordered me to march to India, and India in our minds that day was Basra. He said: And I was averse to that. He said: A man stood up and said to me: O Abu Sulayman, fear God, for the tribulations have appeared. He said: He said: And Ibn al-Khattab is alive! They will only occur after him, while the people are at Dhi Biliyyan, or Dhi Billiyan, in such and such a place. A man will look and reflect: will he find a place that has not been struck by the like of what struck his own place of tribulation and evil, and he will not find it. He said: And those are the days that the Messenger of God ﷺ mentioned before the Hour—the days of al-harj. We seek refuge with God that those days should overtake us and you.
