✧ He entered with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ upon Maymunah, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ, who was his maternal aunt and the maternal aunt of Ibn Abbas. He found a roasted dabb with her, brought by her sister Hufaydah bt. al-Harith from Najd. She offered the dabb to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he rarely extended his hand to food until he was told about it and it was named to him. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ reached his hand toward the dabb, and one of the women present said: 'Tell the Messenger of Allah ﷺ what you have offered him.' They said: 'It is a dabb, O Messenger of Allah.' So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ withdrew his hand from the dabb. Khalid b. al-Walid asked: 'Is dabb forbidden, O Messenger of Allah?' He said: 'No, but it was not in the land of my people, and I find myself averse to it.' Khalid said: 'So I pulled it and ate it while the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was looking at me, and he did not forbid me.'
