✧ A man among the companions of the Prophet ﷺ.

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُوحٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا مَالِكٌ عَنْ سُمَيٍّ عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ هِشَامٍ عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ

رَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَسْكُبُ عَلَى رَأْسِهِ الْمَاءَ بِالسُّقْيَا، إِمَّا مِنَ الْحَرِّ وَإِمَّا مِنَ الْعَطَشِ، وَهُوَ صَائِمٌ، ثُمَّ لَمْ يَزَلْ صَائِمًا حَتَّى أَتَى كَدِيدًا، ثُمَّ دَعَا بِمَاءٍ فَأَفْطَرَ، وَأَفْطَرَ النَّاسُ، وَهُوَ عَامُ الْفَتْحِ

Translation

✧ I saw the Prophet ﷺ pouring water over his head at al-Suqya, either from heat or from thirst, while he was fasting. Then he continued fasting until he reached Kadid, then he called for water and broke his fast, and the people broke their fast. That was the year of the conquest.
