حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عِكْرِمَةُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِيَاسُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ الْأَكْوَعِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ
بَعَثَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَبَا بَكْرٍ ؓ إِلَى فَزَارَةَ، وَخَرَجْتُ مَعَهُ، حَتَّى إِذَا دَنَوْنَا مِنَ الْمَاءِ عَرَّسَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ، حَتَّى إِذَا صَلَّيْنَا الصُّبْحَ، أَمَرَنَا فَشَنَنَّا الْغَارَةَ، فَوَرَدْنَا الْمَاءَ، فَقَتَلَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ مَنْ قَتَلَ وَنَحْنُ مَعَهُ، قَالَ سَلَمَةُ: فَرَأَيْتُ عُنُقًا مِنَ النَّاسِ فِيهِمُ الذَّرَارِيُّ، فَخَشِيتُ أَنْ يَسْبِقُونِي إِلَى الْجَبَلِ، فَأَدْرَكْتُهُمْ، فَرَمَيْتُ بِسَهْمٍ بَيْنَهُمْ وَبَيْنَ الْجَبَلِ، فَلَمَّا رَأَوُا السَّهْمَ قَامُوا، فَإِذَا امْرَأَةٌ مِنْ فَزَارَةَ عَلَيْهَا قَشْعٌ مِنْ أَدَمٍ مَعَهَا ابْنَةٌ مِنْ أَحْسَنِ الْعَرَبِ، فَجِئْتُ أَسُوقُهُنَّ إِلَى أَبِي بَكْرٍ، فَنَفَّلَنِي أَبُو بَكْرٍ ابْنَتَهَا، فَلَمْ أَكْشِفْ لَهَا ثَوْبًا حَتَّى قَدِمْتُ الْمَدِينَةَ، ثُمَّ بَاتَتْ عِنْدِي، فَلَمْ أَكْشِفْ لَهَا ثَوْبًا، حَتَّى لَقِيَنِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فِي السُّوقِ، فَقَالَ: يَا سَلَمَةُ، هَبْ لِي الْمَرْأَةَ، قَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، لَقَدْ أَعْجَبَتْنِي، وَمَا كَشَفْتُ لَهَا ثَوْبًا، قَالَ: فَسَكَتَ حَتَّى إِذَا كَانَ الْغَدُ، لَقِيَنِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فِي السُّوقِ، وَلَمْ أَكْشِفْ لَهَا ثَوْبًا، فَقَالَ: يَا سَلَمَةُ، هَبْ لِي الْمَرْأَةَ، لِلهِ أَبُوكَ. قَالَ: قُلْتُ: هِيَ لَكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، قَالَ: فَبَعَثَ بِهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِلَى أَهْلِ مَكَّةَ، فَفَدَى بِهَا أُسَرَاءَ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ كَانُوا فِي أَيْدِي الْمُشْرِكِينَ

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent Abu Bakr ؓ to Fazara, and I went out with him, until when we drew near the water, Abu Bakr made a night halt. When we had prayed Fajr, he commanded us, and we launched the raid. We reached the water, and Abu Bakr killed whom he killed while we were with him. Salama said: I saw a group of people among whom were women and children, and I feared they would reach the mountain before me. I caught up with them and shot an arrow between them and the mountain. When they saw the arrow, they stopped. There was a woman from Fazara wearing a worn leather garment, and with her was a daughter, one of the most beautiful of the Arabs. I came driving them to Abu Bakr, and Abu Bakr gave me her daughter as a gift. I did not uncover her garment until I reached Madinah. Then she spent the night with me, and I did not uncover her garment until the Messenger of Allah ﷺ met me in the market. He said: 'O Salama, give me the woman.' I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, she has pleased me, and I have not uncovered her garment.' He said: He was silent. When it was the next day, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ met me in the market, and I had not uncovered her garment. He said: 'O Salama, give me the woman, may your father be for Allah.' I said: 'She is yours, O Messenger of Allah.' He said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent her to the people of Makkah, and he ransomed with her some Muslim captives who were in the hands of the polytheists.
