machine translationHe was asked about the hadith of Ibn ʿAbbās, from Abū Ṭalḥah, from the Prophet ﷺ: "The angels do not enter a house in which there is a dog or an image." He said: Al-Zuhrī narrates it, and there is disagreement about it from him. Yūnus, Maʿmar, Ibn Abī Dhiʾb, Shuʿayb, al-Zubaydī, al-Mājishūn and Ibn ʿUyaynah narrated it from al-Zuhrī, from ʿUbaydullāh b. ʿAbdullāh b. ʿUtbah, from Ibn ʿAbbās, from Abū Ṭalḥah. Al-Awzāʿī differed from them, narrating it from al-Zuhrī, from ʿUbaydullāh, from Abū Ṭalḥah, without mentioning Ibn ʿAbbās. The correct view is the view of those who mentioned Ibn ʿAbbās in it. Sālim Abū al-Naḍr also narrated it from ʿUbaydullāh b. ʿAbdullāh, from Abū Ṭalḥah, similar to the narration of al-Awzāʿī.
