✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ had forbidden us to eat the meat of our sacrificial animals beyond three days. He said: I went out on a journey, then returned to my family, and that was some days after the sacrifice. He said: My wife brought me chard in which she had put dried meat. I said to her: 'Where did you get this dried meat from?' She said: 'From our sacrifices.' I said to her: 'Did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ not forbid us from eating them beyond three days?' She said: 'He granted a concession to the people after that.' He said: I did not believe her until I sent to my brother Qatada b. al-Nu'man—and he was a veteran of Badr—to ask him about that. He said: He sent word to me: 'Eat your food; she has spoken the truth. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ did grant the Muslims a concession in that matter.'
