حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ وَابْنُ جَعْفَرٍ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ يَعْلَى بْنِ عَطَاءٍ
قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، كَيْفَ يُحْيِي اللهُ الْمَوْتَى ؟ فَقَالَ: أَمَا مَرَرْتَ بِوَادٍ مُمْحِلٍ، ثُمَّ مَرَرْتَ بِهِ خِصْبًا ؟ " قَالَ ابْنُ جَعْفَرٍ: " ثُمَّ تَمُرُّ بِهِ خَضِرًا ؟ " قَالَ: قُلْتُ: بَلَى قَالَ: كَذَلِكَ يُحْيِي اللهُ الْمَوْتَى

✧ I said: O Messenger of God, how does God bring the dead to life? He said: “Have you not passed through a barren valley, then passed through it when it was green?” Ibn Jaʿfar said: “Then you pass through it verdant?” He said: I said: Yes. He said: “Thus God brings the dead to life.”
