[قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ] حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي الرَّبِيعِ السَّمَّانُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي سَعِيدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي الْحُسَامِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُنْكَدِرِ
رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَطُوفُ عَلَى النَّاسِ بِمِنًى فِي مَنَازِلِهِمْ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُهَاجِرَ إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ، يَقُولُ: يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ، إِنَّ اللهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ يَأْمُرُكُمْ أَنْ تَعْبُدُوهُ وَلَا تُشْرِكُوا بِهِ شَيْئًا. قَالَ: وَوَرَاءَهُ رَجُلٌ يَقُولُ: هَذَا يَأْمُرُكُمْ أَنْ تَدَعُوا دِينَ آبَائِكُمْ، فَسَأَلْتُ: مَنْ هَذَا الرَّجُلُ ؟ فَقِيلَ: هَذَا أَبُو لَهَبٍ

✧ I saw the Messenger of God ﷺ going around among the people at Mina in their encampments before he emigrated to Madinah, saying: 'O people, God, Mighty and Majestic, commands you to worship Him and not associate anything with Him.' He said: And behind him was a man saying: 'This one commands you to abandon the religion of your forefathers.' So I asked: 'Who is this man?' It was said: 'This is Abu Lahab.'
