حَدَّثَنَا الْحَكَمُ بْنُ نَافِعٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ عَنْ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ يَحْيَى بْنِ يَزِيدَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْوَهَّابِ الْمَكِّيِّ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْوَاحِدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ النَّصْرِيِّ عَنْ وَاثِلَةَ بْنِ الْأَسْقَعِ قَالَ

الْمُسْلِمُ عَلَى الْمُسْلِمِ حَرَامٌ دَمُهُ وَعِرْضُهُ وَمَالُهُ، الْمُسْلِمُ أَخُو الْمُسْلِمِ لَا يَظْلِمُهُ وَلَا يَخْذُلُهُ، وَالتَّقْوَى هَاهُنَا وَأَوْمَأَ بِيَدِهِ إِلَى الْقَلْبِ. قَالَ: وَحَسْبُ امْرِئٍ مِنَ الشَّرِّ أَنْ يَحْقِرَ أَخَاهُ الْمُسْلِمَ.

✧ A Muslim's blood, honor, and property are sacred to another Muslim. A Muslim is the brother of a Muslim: he does not wrong him nor forsake him. Godwariness is here—and he pointed with his hand to his heart. He said: It is enough evil for a man to despise his Muslim brother.
