✧ Abdullah b. Arqam, regarding the Prophet ﷺ

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبِي عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَرْقَمَ
أَنَّهُ حَجَّ فَكَانَ يُصَلِّي بِأَصْحَابِهِ يُؤَذِّنُ وَيُقِيمُ، فَأَقَامَ يَوْمًا الصَّلَاةَ وَقَالَ: لِيُصَلِّي أَحَدُكُمْ؛ فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ: إِذَا أَرَادَ أَحَدُكُمْ أَنْ يَذْهَبَ إِلَى الْخَلَاءِ وَأُقِيمَتِ الصَّلَاةُ فَلْيَذْهَبْ إِلَى الْخَلَاءِ.

✧ He performed Hajj and used to lead his companions in prayer, with one calling the adhan and iqamah. One day the prayer was called, and he said, “Let one of you lead the prayer, for I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: ‘When one of you wants to go relieve himself and the prayer has been called, let him go relieve himself.’”
