✧ I and my brother set out to the Messenger of God ﷺ. He said: We said: “O Messenger of God, our mother Mulaykah used to maintain family ties, host guests, and do such and such. She died in the time of ignorance (jāhiliyyah). Will that benefit her at all?” He said: “No.” He said: We said: “She buried alive (waʾadat) a sister of ours in the time of ignorance. Will that benefit her at all?” He said: “The female infanticide (al-wāʾidah) and the buried girl (al-mawʾūdah) are in the Fire, unless the female infanticide lived to see Islam, in which case God will pardon her.”
