✧ A boy of theirs passed away, and his father grieved over him with the severest grief. Ḥawshab, the Companion of the Prophet ﷺ, said: 'Shall I inform you of what I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say concerning the like of your son? A man from his Companions had a son who had been disciplined—or had learned to walk—and he used to come with his father to the Prophet ﷺ. Then his son died, and his father grieved over him for nearly six days, not coming to the Prophet ﷺ. The Prophet ﷺ said: "I do not see so-and-so!" They said: "O Messenger of Allah, his son has died, and he grieved over him." So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him: "O so-and-so, would you like your son to be with you now as the most active of boys in activity? Would you like your son to be with you as the boldest of boys in daring? Would you like your son to be with you as a mature man, like the best of mature men, and it be said to you: Enter Paradise as a reward for what was taken from you?"'
