✧ That he said: O Messenger of Allah, we will meet the enemy tomorrow and we have no knives with us. He said: 'Whatever causes the blood to flow and Allah's name has been mentioned over it, then eat, except the tooth and the claw. I will tell you: as for the tooth, it is bone, and as for the claw, it is the knife of the Abyssinians.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ obtained some spoils, and a camel among them bolted. They pursued it but could not catch it. A man from the group shot it with an arrow and stopped it. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'These camels, or livestock, have wild tendencies like the wildness of wild animals. If any of them overcomes you, do with it like this.' He said: And the Prophet ﷺ used to assign in the division of spoils ten sheep for one camel. Shu’bah said: And most of my knowledge is that I heard this word from Sa’id: 'And he assigned ten sheep for one camel.'
