✧ My father was among the People of the Veranda. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordered them, and a man would take one man, and a man would take two men, until I remained the fifth of five. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Go," so we went with him to the house of A'ishah. He said: "O A'ishah, feed us." She brought some coarse crushed wheat and we ate. Then she brought a small amount of dates mixed with butter and we ate. Then he said: "O A'ishah, give us drink." She brought a large wooden cup and we drank. Then she brought a small bowl with milk and we drank. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "If you wish, you may stay the night, and if you wish, you may go to the mosque." I said: "No, rather we will go to the mosque." He said: While I was lying on my stomach before dawn, a man nudged me with his foot and said: "This is a posture that Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He, hates." I looked and saw that it was the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.

machine translationMuḥammad b. ʿAmr narrates it from Abū Salamah from Abū Hurayrah. That was said by Ḥammād b. Salamah, ʿĪsā b. Yūnus, al-Naḍr b. Shumayl, Abū Muʿāwiyah, ʿAbdah b. Sulaymān, al-Faḍl b. Mūsā al-Sīnānī, Shujāʿ b. al-Walīd and Muḥammad b. Bishr. Muʿtamir narrated it from Muḥammad b. ʿAmr from Abū Salamah as a mursal report from the Prophet ﷺ. Others narrate it from Abū Salamah from Ibn Ṭikhfah al-Ghifārī from his father, and that is the correct version. This hadith was also narrated from Muḥammad b. ʿAmr b. Ḥalḥalah from Muḥammad b. ʿAmr b. ʿAṭāʾ from Abū Hurayrah, and it was said that it is from him from ʿAṭāʾ from Abū Hurayrah, but it is not authentic from Abū Hurayrah. Rather, Muḥammad b. ʿAmr b. ʿAṭāʾ narrated it from Ibn Ṭikhfah as well.
